As you can tell, we are not day cruisers, we are destination cruisers! Yup, it's that time again and the countdown has begun. We are in the process of getting ready to head out to Florida for another adventure.
These are some of the things we've been doing to get ready since our last posting:
While checking out our dinghy and outboard, Josh noticed the steering was tight. Upon further investigation, he found the lower unit steering pivot was rusted through and needed to be replaced. Price to repair vs. new motor?
Breaking in new motor!
In January we made a three day test cruise to Harborwalk Marina to make sure all systems were working. It turned out that three local Heritages were able to do this trip together. It was like a mini Heritage East gathering!
In October we had Last Trade painted. The owner before us like to compound and wax so much that he polished away the gelcoat and she would not shine or even take wax anymore. We knew the painting had to be done so we undressed her and took her over to be painted.
Our baby
is back and she has her jewelry (earrings) and dress blues back on. What a workout we had getting her dressed....... I think it's easier undressing than dressing!
