10/3/2014 to 10/7/2014 - Friday to Tuesday - Biloxi waiting for a weather window

After the front blew through on Friday, my mother decided to drive down to see us.  It was a little scary because we had to help her on and off the boat so that she did not fall between the dock and boat.  The marinas around here are not floating docks and have short finger piers, making boarding less than desirable.  It is fairly open where we are docked and we get a fair amount of wave action from strong winds and boats going by.  Sometimes it really gets to rock n' rolling!  Thank goodness it was calm when my mother was with us.

The engineer on the Boardwalk was very friendly.  We talked to him several times a day.  They have been at this marina for a month now with no shore power (living on generators) and the plan is to leave Monday for Galveston.

Teak the boat dog!

This is probably the only time you will see dirt on this boat.  Squished Love Bugs!!!!!

Casting off the lines!

Bye Bye Boardwalk!

It takes two to handle these bumpers!!!!!!

We found a great oyster place called Half Shell Oyster House and the "Oyster Orleans" are to die for!

Ice Cream at the Hard Rock!

Josh and I decided that Teak needed to get out and really stretch her legs so we decided to walk the Biloxi/Ocean Springs bridge.   No, we did not walk the whole thing!  The bridge is two miles each way so we only walked half way.

When we arrived in New Orleans some of the transoms on our boats were dirty from all the traveling.  I cleaned ours but Ron Gerdes kept trying to get someone else to clean his.   Linda sent me this picture.  He finally did it himself!!!!!

There is an old car rally going on along the coast and it really makes you feel like you are back in time!  It's something to see!  These cars are not parked - they are cruisin' up and down Beach Boulevard constantly. They are expecting 10,000 classic cars and every year it gets bigger and bigger!

The sunsets here have been unbelievable!  We can sit on our "back porch" with a drink and just admire the view.

Today we are waiting for the other two boats that were still in New Orleans to join us.  Tomorrow we will depart for Turner Marine in Mobile, AL.  As Kay would say "It's time to change our back porch view".
