11/11/2014 - Tuesday - Orange Beach Marina Play Day #1

Yesterday's shit list - today's HIT list!

We talked to the harbormaster first thing this morning and we were able to move to outside slips.  (actually the ones that we wanted last night and they said we could not have!)  We think outside is much better than inside because we now don't feel like we we're parked in a garage.  The outside slips that we moved to are on the other side of the marina with better bathrooms (not a one person facility) and we are not right outside the restaurant.  We're happy now!

Dinghy time!  It was a great day touring around Orange Beach, walking the beach and watching the dolphins play and jump all around us. After getting familiar with the area it's really not that difficult to get to this marina.  They do need better instructions on their website (remove all the extra crap and make is simpler, concentrating on the markers more). Do not try this when the sun is in your eyes and make sure you know what slip you will be in before you come in.  The harbormaster is not overly friendly but the rest of the staff is.  Once you get the feel of the place, it's great!

Dinghy Time!

Last Trade at her new dock slip!

Channel going out of marina.

Canal by marina with houses.

Look what boat is in Orange Beach now!

Check out the chair!

Yesterday we ran aground. Today Al and Kay ran aground! LOL!!!

Bird nesting area

Lunch at Tacky Jack's - and the burgers were good! There was no place to dock our dinghies so we took them back to the boat and rode our bikes.

I like the deck on this place!

Filling up the dinghies for round two!
