10/20/2012 – Saturday - Shell Morgan Landing to Berwick Public Dock, mile 95

At 7:00 AM we were all on our way!  The ICW was full of lily pads so we got to play “dodge the lilies” most of the morning.  We did get to see a raccoon swimming across the ICW and floating multiple “man caves”(see pictures below).  We were supposed dock at the Morgan City Public Dock but after talking to the dock master several times on the phone about our plans, he left us hanging and told us to fend for ourselves.  The Morgan City dock full of is nothing but shrimp boats and unfriendly people.  What a shame, we were looking forward to a good meal at Rita Mae’s Kitchen ( a semi-famous Cajun restaurant).  The Berwick side has always been ready to accommodate and the price is free and the people are very friendly.  I would recommend Berwick over Morgan City any day.  We all walked to a café and had a great meal at Bee Bee’s.  Berwick/Morgan City does not have real good dockage due to wave action slamming you up against the bulkhead, train noises and boat horns blasting five times as they enter through the bridge.
