10/21/2012 – Sunday - Berwick to Houma, mile 57

We all headed out at 7:30 AM after a sleepless night of being slammed against the bulkhead from wave action, ship horns, railroad bridge telephone ringing and railroad trains.  We went straight through the Bayou Boeuf Locks at 8:00 AM - gates were open.  Stardust left us to go straight to New Orleans because we did not know if we would have enough room for all of us at Houma.   We arrived at Houma to find that there were two other boats already docked.  The six of us took the rest of the dockage space.

  2. Not exactly sure where I found your blog, but we are also from Texas. We made the trip east with our Monk 36 in March 2011 and now use it as a home on the east coast. The Pearl is docked in Charleston for the winter and we have come home to visit family and friends. Reading your blog brings back memories. We also have a blog of our travels: http://sscruisingadventure.blogspot.com/ Maybe we will run into you on the water one day.
