April 10th. We spent our day doing laundry then we rode our bikes to Wal-Mart. Burger King was next to Wal-Mart so we decided to have lunch first and then ride over to Wally World. Wal-Mart was a nice long bike ride but through some not-so-nice sections of town. It was still good to get out and move the body some. Traveling like this is very different than living in one location with a car and all accommodations. We have to take advantage of certain things when we can.
Around 5 PM we all got together for docktails and appetizers and to discuss our travel options. One of the boaters that came into Houma said that Boomtown no longer allows you tie up to their bulkhead. That was our next planned stop. I guess they didn't like the liability issue. They are running boaters off. Another hurdle!
April 11th. Kay rented a car and Al, Kay, Diane, Curtis and Josh headed out to check out possible stopping spots. They stopped at Boomtown first and confirmed that we could not stop there. On to the New Orleans marina where we usually stay and confirmed that they have no slips for us. Then on to Slidell to a new marina, Lake Shore Marina, that could accommodate all 5 of us but would be somewhat out of the way.
I decided not to go along but rather stay on the boat with Teak. They were calling for possible thunderstorms and I did not want her to freak out!
Check out this big boy coming through the Houma twin bridges! The bridge is 73 feet high, so you can imagine the size of this offshore crew boat! A lot of people come down to the city park just to watch the marine traffic come through. It is amazing!

April 12th. Our excitement for today was to do the "boat pumpout shuffle". Yup, it has to be done! We had 4 boats that needed holding tank pumping and the hose was only long enough to reach the area right in front of the pump. Of course that's where we are tied up. That meant "musical boats" to get everyone emptied. The weather was calling for rain and (of course) it decided to start as we were doing the shuffle. It looks like we will have rain for the next several days.
