April 4, 2016 Play Day in Delcambre

The plan for today was to take our dinghies to Avery Island.  Not knowing how much fuel we would use or if we could get fuel once we got there, we decided to take only two dinghies, using the fuel tank from the third dinghy as "get home" fuel.  Our departure time was around 9:30 am so Al and Curtis headed off on foot to fill up Curtis's fuel tank at the fuel dock and Josh, Kay, Diane and I loaded up our dinghy to meet them.  It took us about an hour, motoring at half speed to arrive and get tied up at Avery Island.  We had lunch, did the Tabasco plant tour and visited the store.  A full day of fun!

Gator on the bank!

Delcambre put on a fish fry for us!  It was so good!!!!!  The person who cooked the fish for us was Stephen Menard of Menard's Wild Catfish & Garfish.  He will ship fish directly to you!  The people of Delcambre are so nice and friendly, a must stop for all boaters!

Gift baskets for all of us filled with local items!
