April 6, 2016 Delcambre to Morgan City / Berwick

We got up at 6 am with no fog.  Kay took the rent car back at 7:15 am and at the same time we headed to out to get fuel.

Kay returned just as we were finished fueling up so it worked out well.  Cambria proceeded to the fuel dock and S/V Sweet Tides and Last Trade headed out slowly until we all met up near the ICW.

M/V Cambria going to get fuel!

Look what we saw in the middle of nowhere land!

This is a boat that we passed today!

Man cave!

Around 12:30 pm we ran into some heavy current.  It slowed us down to only 5.3-6 knots from our previous speed of 7+.  We were moving like a turtle!  We noticed yesterday while driving to Berwick in our rent car that when we went across one fairly large bridge the water was really flowing fast.  Guess what?  The Wax Lake Outlet was the culprit! This turned out to be the river that we had to cross...

The river is so high and running so fast that the trees are bending over!

This barge is not helping.  Pushed to the side and mowing down trees!

Crossing this river was fun......  What a ride!  S/V Sweet Tides started on one side and "crabbed" to the other side and back.  Whoo Hoo.! They said we did the same thing when they looked back!

Docked at the slips at St. Mary's Parish Boat Launch!

Air boat coming into launch area!

Dock Tails after an exciting day!!!!!!

Look at all the boats heading into the boat launch!
