11/01/2012 – Thursday – Gulfport to Biloxi

M/V Awesome 1 left the marina around 7:00 AM to carry on with their traveling plans. Because this was a short day for the rest of us, we headed out at 9:00 AM.  Before heading out, Teak and I had a nice walk around the marina.  It was a beautiful morning and we were blessed with the Mississippi Sound being calm again!  Good for us but not for the sailboats!!!!!!  Our friend Levi was out sailing and contacted us again.  We talked for a while until radio contact was interrupted.  We arrived at the Biloxi Point Cadet Marina around 11:30 AM and met the Isle manager who was walking the docks (checking it out for Tillman Fertitta’s boat).  Fertitta is in the process of purchasing the Isle casino in Biloxi and possibly the marina.  The manager asked us to join him at the casino café for lunch.  During lunch we met several other people on his staff who were in charge of different areas of the casino (security, gambling, marketing, etc.).  We had a great lunch with lots of laughs and informative knowledge (watch what you do in elevators at casinos!!!!!).  Exercise was needed so Renee, Teak and I headed out to walk the Biloxi / Ocean Springs Bridge.  Fantastic day!
